IT’S ALL IN THE SAUCE

The Tale of the Tomato

Nestled between Naples and Rome lies the Province of Frosinone, Italy. A quaint region home to the Guastaferro Family(Nick’s mom) and the origin of ‘the sauce.’ A sauce unlike any other. For over 100 years and 4 generations, this recipe and tradition has been nurtured and passed down, eventually ending up traveling the Atlantic to Arthur Avenue, The Bronx, and beyond.

This tale of tomatoes brings us to a single day a year—tomato day. Where over 600 pounds of Roma Tomatoes are harvested, at the most optimal time of harvest, mid to late August.

The recipe? Nothing but Tomatoes, Salt, and Basil—the tomato is king.

Join us at The Naughty Pine to share in the joy of not only the tomato but in the celebration of family, tradition, legacy, love, community, and nourishment. Let tradition be the reason we gather around the table to raise funds for our queer charity partners.

It’s Sunday, it’s time to eat, time to gather, and time to feed our souls.
